In like a lion, out like a ???

Cold day, hot show! Country music Thursday, Tassocino Thursday, good times.

A few of the big news stories of the day to start off as usual; divorce, dentists, you name it.

Did you see that kid singing "Imagine" on American Idol? A lot of people think he'll go all the way! David Archiletta is his name...

Aaron saw a machine in Toronto that actually melts snow - one of HIS ideas. Why don't we have those here?

Our buddy Joey Mascarpone calls Aaron with info on tickets to things that haven't even been announced; that guy is so ahead of his time.

"Leap Year"

Does tomorrow count? Aaron's doing a Top 4 list about the best things to do on the extra day (the 29th) can you just take the day off? Does what you do count? Who knows.

Winnie has some schedule notes for Tasso, actually for Max his dog. There's nothing for Aaron, except for the guy who called him from "some company" Steve or Stan or something.

The French word of the day "Debarbouillette" is a classic!

Brian Bringolf is here from the Starlight Foundation starlightcanada.ca check them out online. The skiiathon and snowbox derby is coming up soon (March 15) and they could use your support!

All set for Dusk till Dawn?? See you there!

Slippery when wet

Another day, another storm.

Crazy drive in, after even MORE snow. The guys discuss a little hockey, some budget stuff and other news.

Kim Jon Il calls to tell us about the big show he's putting on!

"Computers make you stupid!"

Did you see the article about computers in the classroom? Tasso agrees, in the meantime, Aaron plays Space Invaders on his laptop!

Did you ever steal anything? Our what's this question says women are FOUR TIMES more likely to shop-lift.

Do you know of any good cold remedies? Aaron needs some - he's getting a lot of colds this year. The next one he plans to try; apple cider vinegar.

Elias the cab driver calls us with his new invention! A taxi with a snow plough on the front of it! GREAT idea - he can drive you home and then do your driveway when you get there!

Lenny had his cats taken care of at the vet - their names are "aaron" "tasso" and "suzanne" of course.

Alphonso Gagliano is still having trouble adjusting to his new job and his new duties.

Popo closes off the day with today's English word. Let's all learn something new

Tuesday, February 26, 2008

"I had an epitome!"

The show kicks off with some airline talk, and some tax talk. The tax talk wasn't resolved last night at that city council meeting, so we still don't know what's gonna happen.

Hey Sara Bareilles is coming in with Ken Judy and Sonia today! Her "Love Song" is great. She'll be opening for James Blunt tonight!

Lenny was supposed to go to that big city council meeting, but he couldn't find parking. Seriously.

We got a letter from the CEO of the Barkinsons Society of Canada requesting that Tasso's dog Max host a fundraiser for them. We'll have to get Winnie to check his schedule.

Jessica the obsessed Habs fan called us with some trade insights, and some scary stuff about her favorite dude, Mike Komisarek.

We continue yesterday's Top 4 things you don't want/need to know. Yuck!

Former PM Jean Chretien calls to complain about our lack of recognition for his Order of Canada.

Karla calls with a report about her "worst weekend ever" with Renato. She had quite the "epitome"!

Daryl and Daryl are DYING to go to see James Blunt tonight. But they can't. Big Brother is on. (you'd think they could tape it)

Alphonso Gagliano is in for his second day, he left early yesterday, but today he's early! By about 5 minutes.

See ya!

And the Oscar goes to...

We all watched the Oscars, (except for Tasso), it was pretty decent. Did you watch?

Aaron plays the winning song from the film "Once", that surprised everybody.

Of all the people to call us so early in the morning, Raul Castro is on the phone! He's taking over for his big bro Fidel. Raul sounds way younger, of course he's only 76.

Lenny the intern bought THREE cats over the weekend, to avoid having a heart attack. He named them Aaron, Tasso, and Suzanne. He doesn't know much about cats though, so he hasn't bought a few essentials. Like a litter-box.

Alphonso Gagliano is on the phone - today's his first day! I think. Definitely maybe.

Winnie was disgusted that she had to drive Aaron to his procedure on the weekend. She also has a couple of appointments for the guys as well, including Tasso's dog Max.

Ted Silver is back and as angry as ever. You see, our new boss has been calling him for advice in dealing with Aaron. That can't be a good thing.

Aaron went to Costco yesterday, and he discovered that his card was expired - again.

Maureen gave us her "Oscar Diary". It was pretty funny! She really should slow down...

Friday, February 22, 2008

"Yes I would!"

The morning starts off with talk about a new mall that may be built at the bottom of a quarry. Seriously, imagine shopping so far underground. Wait, don't we have that already?

Old friend of the show Alphonso Gagliano calls to let us know he got a job at the station! He's gonna be working in our HR department, so we'll probably see him around in the next little while.

Jessica the Habs fan called to talk about last night's game, she's so cute...

We have a caller on who Lenny spoke to yesterday and fell in love with her voice (she's from South Africa)

PoPo is on with us! She's got the French word of the day, she's really helping!

An interesting study about cats and heart attacks. So interesting that a cat called to tell us about saving his owner. Really!

Winnie is back on the phone with more info for the guys.

Hey did you sign up for Q-Rewards? Otherwise you won't be able to come to "Dusk till Dawn" see you next week!

Wednesday's eclipse by Steve Legg

Here's a shot sent in by a listener/photographer

"This sequence took roughly 2 hours. The eclipse started at 8:40. Total Eclipse (2nd to last image) was at 10:00. The last image in this sequence was taken at about 10:30"

-Steve Legg

Pictures were taken with a 9MP digital camera on a tripod with 10X optique and 2X digital zoom.

Rubber Band Man

Did you know that Aaron and Tasso once gave away thousands of rubber-bands on air? Unfortunately a lot of them dried out before they could use them all.

"Never took Latin"

Aaron and Suzanne both took Latin in school, but not Tasso. The conversation was sparked by playing Mr. Mister's "Kyrie"

Even though it's country music Thursday, Aaron plays Tasso a reggae song! "Don't look back" by Peter Tosh and Mick Jagger (!)

Do you use coupons? Everybody seems to, especially at Costco (since they hand em to you on the way in as Suzanne points out)

Did you see the eclipse? It was pretty cool, everybody went out to watch at some point - Suzanne was out there at 10:30 (!)

There's a new product on the market from the folks at Tazer industries (not really) sounds useful!

"Slammin'"!

Tasso really liked a new song Aaron played as an out-of-the-box tune.

Our old boss Ted Silver calls to make peace with Aaron - and he sends him a song to play! What a great guy that Ted. He sort of gets angry whenever he speaks to Aaron.

Lenny the intern went to the Jacques Villeneuve press conference yesterday, and he had some GREAT questions.

Mayor Tremblay calls us to let us know about his new water-filtration system. It didn't quite work out the way he planned though.

"Since when?!"

Suzanne wasn't here for a traffic report - she went to "stretch her legs"

"Chrome au but" French word of the day time with Jean-Pierre, did you write it down?

Auction day

Today is our Paul Potts auction. We're trying to raise as much as possible for Generations, a worthy cause!

Nonetheless, another crazy day.

Habs fan Jessica called us to tell us how much she enjoyed the game last night (big win!)

The Mayor called us (twice) to let us know that he's supervising the roadwork being done around the city. Actually, he was sitting in the back of his limo...

Winnie the PA called up just after waking up (for the second time) to tell Aaron about what's happening in his world. She also had some info for Tasso, concerning his dog Max. (Good boy!)

Suzanne tells us possibly the worst joke ever about the man in the moon ("He's getting a haircut!") which prompts us to tell a Jacque(s) Villeneuve joke ("Look at that S car go!")

Tuesday, February 19, 2008

Get ready for tomorrow's Paul Potts ticket auction!

Tomorrow, Aaron and Tasso will auction off front row tickets to Paul Potts' concert at Place des Arts March 14th, combined with limo ride from Allante Limousine, Paul Potts' CD "One Chance", an Armani Code gift set for him & her (a new fragrance from Giorgio Armani)...and you'll get to meet Paul after the show!

He was in the Q92 studios with Aaron Tasso & Suzanne for a visit last Fall and he's truly a fantastic performer.

It all benefits Generations Foundation - a local organization providing food to over 6,000 school children in Montreal.

This is a fantastic opportunity to help kids and enjoy a night of music.

Here's the video clip that started it all!

How much for that bagel in the window?

Back into the snow once again, good old Montreal.

We get a call from Fidel Castro! He's letting us know what he plans to do now that he's stepping down. Can you imagine he's never been to the beach?

Did you hear about the new CD for dogs? It's a big seller in New Zealand. We play back a track from it, but only dogs can hear.

We got a call from our old boss Ted Silver, who STILL gets upset when he talks to Aaron.

Mo is back from family day - we don't have that in Quebec, yet. Maybe we could just take a "floating day" (ask your boss)

How many hours do you think you've spent on your hair so far? According to our what's this question, the average woman will spend 54,000 hours in their lifetime!

"Spandau Ballet"

Winnie is annoyed with Aaron, that almost never happens. She has to go get his clothes BACK from the Salvation Army.

Renato is having a hard time with Karla - he called to give us his side of the Valentine's Day fiasco they had.

Lenny the intern is out of jail! He'll be back soon, Aaron bailed him out...

Monday, February 18, 2008

Slip slidin' away

Tasso was a little late today, but he made it in despite how slippery it is out there.

The talk turns to NASCAR, and even the return of Night Rider last night. Why did they bring that back exactly? Actually - Daryl and Daryl watched it, 10 times!

Someone we've never heard from before "Jessica" calls to talk a little hockey. She's, um, special.

"Pillow Fight"

Tasso didn't have pillows when he was a kid, which is why when we're at the Ritz for our "Dusk till Dawn" party, he won't be part of the pillow-fight. He wouldn't know what to do.

Hey it's our old friend Karla on the phone, she had a tough weekend with Renato. Actually, if you were at Trattoria Tasso on the weekend, she might have served your table!

Uh oh! Technical problems stop us from doing the 7:30 news, at least for the time being.

The guys are excited about going to go to a hockey game soon. Tasso can't decide what day he wants to go on though (you'd think he had to actually play)

Lenny the intern is in jail in Tyler Texas, having an OK time!

Winnie wasn't in on Friday, but she's here now, and in a professional mood as ever.

Popo, or Pauline Marois is here with the English word of the day. I'm not sure she gets the idea...

Aaron had a bunch of clothes he was TRYING to get rid of, but had a bit of a change of heart. He even took two ties out of the bag (he wears ties?)

Friday, February 15, 2008

The day after

Aaron is becoming a Wii champion! He's getting pretty good at that Wii baseball game.

Tasso had a nice time at the restaurant last night for Valentine's Day, there was even an according player! No, that's a GOOD thing! Aaron took accordion lesson you know...And look where it got him!

Aaron had a lobster dinner for two last night, and Suzanne had dinner with her youngest daughter.

Did you know today is Flag Day? Neither did we!
"At the stroke of noon on February 15, 1965, Canada's red and white maple leaf flag was raised for the very first time. The flag belongs to all Canadians; it is an emblem we all share. Although simple in design, Canada's flag well reflects the common values we hold so dear: freedom, peace, respect, justice and tolerance. Canada's flag is a symbol that unites Canadians and expresses throughout the world and always our pride in being Canadian."

Samantha's on the phone playing some yes/no with us, doesn't go so well. Maybe Jemma will do better? She does!

Lenny the intern is in Texas. In jail. Poor guy. I wonder if he'll ever make it back?

"Une picine turtle"

Jean-Pierre has your French word of the day, I wonder if anybody's learning from this?

A plastic bottle expert calls in to "clear things up" about the dangers that don't exist. We don't believe him.

Barry Garber is on the line to tell us about the Celine Dion tour which kicked off in South Africa. Sounds like it's gonna be amazing!

Have a great weekend! See ya later...

Thursday, February 14, 2008

XOXOXO

Happy Valentine's Day!

"the other 364 days"

A nice cold start once again, the guys (and Suzanne) kick it off with some talk about what today means.

Although we've had a ton of snow, it's STILL not a record. (1970 we had 300cm)

It's been a while, but our buddy Bunga calls from, somewhere, to talk about Celine Dion. Who knew he was such a big fan!

English word of the day time - Popo is on the phone with today's word; "Kaput" only thing is we're not so sure that's actually an english word...

So much activity today! It's a Tassocino Thursday, Valentine's Day, it's crazy!

Winnie the PA is on the phone "helping" Aaron with tonight's plans...

Wednesday, February 13, 2008

Merry Christmas!

Yet another snowstorm!!!
Suzanne is doing everything she can to keep you on top of the situation on a day that surprised everybody with the amount of snow we got and the lousy roads...

Lenny the intern has a school closing report. And they're all open!

We have a what's this question that's interesting, do YOU do this on purpose? Suzanne chimes in to mention that this is in fact true, that women need to vent, and that Aaron is RIGHT. We stop right there.

Tammy spilled the beans about her "lunch-time stand" yesterday, she had a good time, and thought Pat was a great guy!

Josey Vogels "Dating Girl" is on telling us about some Valentine's Day do's and don't's. Be careful what kind of flowers you buy guys, actually, be careful whatever you buy. And don't forget to buy something, you'll be in trouble. Also, make sure you make reservations, and get there on time, and dress nice.

Aaron found his wallet! Everybody's glad, except for Winnie the PA who's not too thrilled about the fact that she's spent the last few days looking. She REALLY didn't like working at the Gazette...

Aaron closes off with a story about GM, pretty crazy.

Be careful driving, see you tomorrow!

Tuesday, February 12, 2008

For English, press what?

It's so cold, again. The guys discuss some odd stories, stolen purses, too many doggies, language police, you name it.

We play that "My Cubicle" parody, which prompts Suzanne to complain about the size of her traffic booth (wah)the booth is actually pretty nice, it's small, but it's nice. OK, it's tiny.

Lots of crazy stuff going on around the world, and Aaron fills us in. Did you know sugar is bad for you? I'm shocked. Holding a grudge can make you sick as well!

Did you hear about the stolen art work worth 160 million bucks? Don't buy any Van Gogh's on the street today.

"Stop! Hammer time!"

Aaron plays a hit song from 1990 - MC Hammer's "you can't touch this" we had a blast dancing and rapping on a Tuesday...

Pauline Marois calls us with the English word of the day, it didn't sound that English though.

Celine Dion has sold out 8 shows! She calls to gloat, I mean mention it.

Winnie the PA calls Aaron to let him know she STILL hasn't found his wallet; I hope it's not in his pocket or something.

A fun Tuesday, but that's it for now, see you tomorrow!

Monday, February 11, 2008

"I'll be getting my hair done"

The guys start off with some Grammy talk. Everybody watched different amounts of the show, it was pretty good!

Comedian Joe Avati plans to visit today, and our friend Karla can't wait (she called three times before he even got here)

Joe's in the house! He's chit-chatting with the guys and Mo. He'll be back for some shows in April - stay tuned.

Can you imagine Karla MISSED Joe? She was blow drying her bangs. For 20 minutes. She couldn't hear the radio.

"What's an ugly stick?"

Tammy's going out on her date with Pat tomorrow, finally! Should be interesting...

Lenny the intern just called from the road, he was at the Grammy's last night! He partied all night with Andy Williams actually, hard to believe.

"Super-duper Bowl"

Top 4 New England Patriot excuses, good stuff!

Winnie the PA is on the phone, she's not too happy about a little task she has to do for Aaron today. I think it's gonna take a while!

See ya tomorrow!

A canole dusting of snow

The guys kick off the morning by letting "the theme play through"

We're expecting just a "canole dusting of snow" as Tasso would say.

Fishing with Tasso starts today, he'll be giving the first question this morning and bringing winners on a trip soon!

Listener email time, and that brings up an oldie but a goody; how to shower like a man!

Tasso's really crazy about this fishing stuff - he even wants Aaron to come along. I don't think that's gonna happen though.

"Puppers"

Winnie had so much going on today! For Tasso's dog Max that is.

We hear from Bill Clinton AND Pauline Marois on the same day - wow!

It's been a long time, but we actually play "Hey Baby" as our Friday theme! It was a request for 70 special people...

We got Celine Dion on the phone to call one of our winners of Celine tickets! So nice of her to do that!

Have a great weekend!

Thursday, February 7, 2008

How old do you THINK I am?

OK. That cream every body is so crazy about is made by a company called "Aldi", the cream itself is Siana Moisturising Anti-Wrinkle Day Cream.

The problem is, you have to go to the states to get it. There are no Aldi stores in Canada. There are stores in Massena, Plattsburgh, and Malone. As far as ordering online goes, there's nothing on their website.

News from around the world, including a kid who made $100,000 teaching adults how to use computers!

Pauline Marois calls in to help us with a new feature, the English word of the day. She's really got a great grasp on the English language!

Bill Clinton is on the phone! He's gloating over Hillary's "win" on super Tuesday. He's also slamming Mitt Romney!

Top 4 continuation today - shocking!

Our buddy Renato is on the line to tell us what's on his mind - and it's a lot!

Country song time: Brad Paisley "Letter to Myself" you likey? (not me)

French word of the day time with Jean-Pierre. He's pretty good that guy!

Mo runs down all of the celebrity rehab and depression facts.

Fact or fiction to close, and we're out, see ya!

Wednesday, February 6, 2008

Psychic dep owner

Another wacky morning, talking about the writers strike and chain letters.

The guys discuss their New Year's resolutions, but Suzanne mentions that she's "perfect"

Aaron reads us a pretty funny chain letter, thanks Harry!

Tasso has a little confusion over the dates, since Valentine's is coming up (?)

We've got Hayley Sales tickets, plus a chance to win some Celine Dion tickets online.

Aaron uses last nights episode of house as the basis of a what's this question, I doubt anybody's gonna get it.

We get to Aaron's monologue - some wacky stuff going on!

Aaron tells us about a new feature on the show, the "French word of the day" that'll be starting soon.

"Here comes the stun"

Top four songs found on the new Tazer/MP3 player, seriously! The good (bad) news is, there's a part II coming

"Aunt" Marlene is back! She won big on the Super Bowl.

We start our "French word of the day" feature and we learn a great word! Should come in handy.

Would you like someone to draw a bath for you? Tasso sure wouldn't, but Aaron has a story about a hotel that does that for you!

Winnie the PA calls to let the guys know their agenda for the day, she also has a few things to say about some past clients.

We wrap up with a couple of news stories, like the guy who cleaned his ears with a Q-Tip and died (true!)

That's it for now, see ya!

Tuesday, February 5, 2008

I feel as though I'm being persecuted!

Aaron made it back! He had a hard time making it, but he did. Flights missed, problems, you name it.

Tasso can't stand the way the city cleans the snow, especially when he's buying energy efficient bulbs (what?)

Aaron tells us about the parking plan that Marcel Tremblay came up with...

We then get some wacky news from around the world. A gas-pumping robot?

Aaron brought back some souvenirs for Tasso and Suzanne, a seat cushion and the visitors guide! (Suzanne took the cushion)

Our what's this question today is interesting, it apparently to impress most women, being punctual is the #1 thing you can do. Are you punctual?

Winnie the PA needs a favor from Aaron, but he doesn't seem to be on her side (can't imagine why)She continues to spill the beans on Mutsumi.

Aaron explains how the Super Bowl stage was set up so fast for the Halftime show.

Fact or Fiction for some Hayley Sales tickets, first caller, not so good. Same with the second caller. Third time's a - loser. Fourth, nope! Fifth - no! Sixth - no! Too tough today.

A few birthdays of the day, some Bobby Brown, and we're out of here!

Monday, February 4, 2008

Waking up with _____ & Tasso!

No Aaron - just Tasso today. Aaron's on his way back from the Super Bowl. Suzanne's helping out of course.

Luckily, Aaron recorded some instructions to make sure everything goes smoothly.OK, kinda smoothly.

We give away ANOTHER great trip to Cuba - our last one (for now) she was on her way to work, but she came back in to claim her prize.

Mo watched the whole game! That's 100% more than Tasso and I. Suzanne of course watched, she's a fanatic!

Aaron's on the phone! He had a great time, even though the flight wasn't so great.

Fact or Fiction time - first time's a charm!

Time for a what's this question; can you drink that much milk you think?

An idle Chuck Norris thought to keep things rolling, Tasso doesn't really get it, but at least Suzanne laughed!

That's it for now, see you tomorrow with some stories from Aaron's' Super Bowl experience. See you later!

Friday, February 1, 2008

Are you ready for some football?

Superbowl weekend!

Where are they gonna put all the new snow? The city is out of space to put the snow and there’s more coming!

The guys are arguing over Aarons “doom and gloom” weather forecast. Since Tasso was upset with it yesterday, a listener wrote in to agree.

Tasso actually left the studio after being ridiculed for suggesting that you bring a shovel in your car today (he came back shortly after)

We hear some really interesting stories from around the world; pit bulls, smokers and cow poo… (You had to be there)

Aaron’s “aunt” Marlene is going to Super Bowl! Aaron might meet her there. She’s got the insight on all the betting…

A little yes/no for the kids, and we get ourselves a winner!

We also pick our Bridezilla winner, and get stuck between two letters, so I guess we picked two winners really.

We gave away some cool “pro cases” that are being given away at the Grammy’s they’re from www.pro-case.com

Lenny is in Las Vegas and boy is he having a wild time! He even got married!

Winnie the assistant calls to let everyone know she’s back and nicer than ever (OK, she’s back anyway…)

In case you didn't hear - Tammy's going out with Eye-Candy #2! More on that as it develops...
